MOVED!

yeah again, sorry. BECAUSE LA stupid blogger so hard to do the photos RAWR

i just wanna hear some rhythm

This is the most exciting day by far, I am going to for the last time, make a list of post-O activities. I am being way too selfish but I can't help it. It's not even the buying that excites me, it's the part where I come up with a million things to buy and do that's fun. Plus it distracts me from tomorrow's complicating plans and I DON'T WANNA CHOOSE. Also I've been sitting here for the past half hour or so, and my sister's alarm clock has been ringing incessantly, but the best part is this: she's still asleep.

THINGS TO DO:
1 Bruce Springsteen's new album Magic

2 Michael Jackson's greatest hits

3 The Beatles: Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club first, but then subsequently as many as I can get

4 Gibson les paul... maybe a Fender stratocaster. I don't know! Soon. I don't know yet

5 threadless teeeeeeeeeeeeeeees Ashley!

6 develop good pictures, buy frames from Ikea, adorn wall

7 trash people so badly in COD4

8 shop for Italyyyyyy!!!

9 explore Haji Lane, Arab Street, Bugis Street/Village

10 dress like a hippie with the long flowy skirts and insane accessories

11 get proper footwear

12 BUY. SPEAKERS. COOL. SWEET. SPEAKERS. my current speakers are so messed up. I want one with like AWESOME putting through of bass, but not in a techno-way la. I don't want too big. I don't even know if these speakers are good, but I want something like that. If I can have surround sound, I want, haha.

Actually they're quite ugly.

13 Get proper covering for iPod

14 Go clubbing with FATHER. Haha jazz clubs and all.

15 Obedience cell reunion!!!!!!!!! AHAHAHAH :D :D :D :D :D

16 Picnic at Greenfield with cell (Eugene not invited) HEHEHE xD

17 Watch all the movies I said I would

I'm suddenly very tired, and my head hurts cos I was COD4-ing excessively just now. Now I pay the price. AHH D: Dot just said the weirdest thing to me, "I think your singlish is going from bad to worse" Singlish got standard one meh?

JUST. ONE. MORE. PAPER.

ba-ba-ba-bye bye baby, rock yourself to sleep

Got the new Eagles album, plus Simon and Garfunkle, my sister buys so impulsively! Speaking of impulsive, we went to the beach at 10PM! It was awesome! We played rugby and ran around and speed and pictures and everything. The smell of the ocean always lingers on you after a trip to the beach, so now I smell of salt and sand, and sweat.

Last night/this morning was Stardust at Lido until 2AM-ish. Omg he kept blasting his horn and doing all these stupid things in the car, hahaha, and Rudy's insane also

Rudy: He's a pro-aethist (talking about the writer of The Golden Compass). Actually he was a noob aethist, then become semi-pro aethist, then now he's a PRO AETHIST.

Stuupid hahaha but Stardust was a good show! I don't mind watching again. I thought Yvaine talked too much though. Argh the movie ending was way better than the book! At least the witch-queen died after a struggle. Haha, and Robert's name is Humphrey in the movie! Quite a big difference from the book. Missed out the part about the hairy little man which I was quite excited to see. But then the Dead Brothers, and Captain Shakespeare and his crew were SUPER HILARIOUS. Man, I loved them! 'It's alright Capt'n! We always knew you were a wuss!' Robert De Niro was so hilarious, and Michelle Pfeiffer did very well I think. Her performance was brilliant.

Thursday night was out late with same people, walked around HMV for an insanely long time, looking at movies and songs and I want Bruce Springsteen's new album!!! Ate at Heeren. Sorry I keep thinking about how long we walked around at HMV.

Today was CHURCH, really good message on Pioneering. Right then and there I didn't feel much la, honestly I was really pooped. But I know that God has called me to the area of missions and I don't mean just Singapore. Sometimes I really feel the call of God is for me overseas, and I would really love the chance to go out of Singapore and to countries like Philippines Thailand China Africa despite all the luxuries that I'd miss. I think it'd do me a lot of good.

Went for lunch at Mos JOY IS CRAZY SHE'S CRAZY! Hahaha we kept coming up with B***** songs and stuff, and Kenneth loves pisai! Heeheeehee siao. Super funny la Alethea wore a dress SEXY sia! Then they all went to Old Chang Kee to buy food haha, Eugene Fabian Rudy came, and we hung out at Mos (again). Man I heard some saddening stuff that makes me feel real crappy. SIGH. Then Eugene left so it was Fabian Rudy and I and they are so retarded maaan seriously, but very fun la, very fun, haha. Then my sis came, then Christine and TTL, haha. Rudy and Christine super funny la.

Christine: Wait so your dad is what
Me: Hokkien
Rudy: Aiyah then you are hokkien la! Woman is not important one
Christine: -DEATHGLARE-
Rudy: ... later go home die

So many stupid conversations haha

Me: Yeah if they get married I'll be like the first one to object
Lu: Yeah me also!
Fabian: Like what happens after someone objects ah
TTL: They throw the person out then ask again

AHAHA crazy. So funny, yeah. But we left, met the family, bought CALL OF DUTY 4 WHOOOOO!!! I was so hyped, I plugged it up the minute I got home even though tomorrow there's still papers. I played for like 3 hours straight I think. So awesome. I LOVE IT seriously. The pounding in my head and splitting cranial pains I affectionately call, The COD Headache. But yes I OWNZ man, I love COD4. WEDNESDAY SOME PEOPLE ARE GOIN' DOWN, YO! (okay secret secret)

TWO. MORE. DAYS. ONLY. TWO. MORE. DAYS. I can't stand Kelvin who has random outbursts of "Ohhhhhhhhhh that's right, you still have to study hor?" xP

before this world starts up again

post-O's dinner at outback steakhouse the most expensive friggin restaurant ever with crazy gst and service charge pfffffft. it was the most expensive ordinary meal but had fun waiters that laughed at us and played Where Is The Love cos we were talking so insanely loudly. reminiscing about our four years, i told tammy it would happen. relax the emo bit hasn't come yet, but it will soon.
the playground was wet but a few rounds of blind man took our minds off the dampness, and also speculating about a couple sitting off to a side, PDA-ing, but the best part was that their genders were unknown O_O today tammy says it was a guy and a girl, but i stick to what my own eyes told me: it was two guys. love 7! but chem is calling meeeeee sigh JUST 4 MORE DAYYYYYSSSSS grrr.

well i wish i lived in the land of fools

Watch this! :D Awesome part of The Godfather, which I watched last night with my dad. It's an extremely long movie, but really good! The characters are each so deep, and Michael's character change is so insane, man. The Godfather should be a book, and we should do it for LIT. It'd be so bloody awesome. Darn Michael's crazy. Al Pacino did a good job. And Vito Corleone is my homeboy, yo! I'm all pissed that he died, hah. But good movie, another strike off my list, YESSS.

Stardust tonight!

the memory of how horribly done my lit paper was
returns to haunt me every now and then
everytime i think about it i think about
how i've failed and how i've let myself down
and just how horribly done that paper was
messy, no structure, repetition, forgetting key ideas
i think this is but the beginning of a reigning mental torture
that won't go away because i'll never have another chance
to correct my paper

Keep you in the dark

I'm finished making sense
Done pleading ignorance
That whole defense
Spending this energy
But the wheel is spining me, it's never ending
Never ending
Same old story

Ohhh man tiring day, tiring day. I'mma pooped. Insanely expensive linner/lunner/dinch/dunch? and heck of a fun time CS-ing in the morning :D LOVED Ice World the first time we played it. Second time I lost my touch, yo. Haha, aiyah haven't played in so long! But Ox Mitch and Madho are hilarious as ever. Yanyu is gross she rolled in on her heelies!

Tomorrow there is some family event, and then I'm going to shop for some stuff... CDs/shoes/swimstuff/books/musicstuff/roomstuff, aiyah a lot of things la. Kkkkkkkkk my eyelids are failing to keep up! Night, all.

keep you in the dark

I striked off one movie! Yayyy!!! I am insanely excited for tomorrow to start, but then I'm a little upset, because the day starts with CS from 11-ish to dinner :( Man I might consider ponning CS to catch up on my movies. Sigh I really wanna catch up on my movies, hahaha. I think I'll watch another one now... My mom gave me a box to rummage through, all the DVDs that my dad bought while in Msia and stuff. I found quite a lot of shows that I wanted, plus some more. I just watched The Pursuit of Happyness... it was alright I think? Not as heart-wrenching or tear-jerking as I thought it would be, but it's a good show. And Will Smith's kid is without a doubt the cutest kid ever. His hair is AWESOME.

I've got with me now: The Queen, Half Nelson, Lucky Number Slevin [not on list], Syriana [not on list], Collateral, The Last King of Scotland [forgot to put on list], Blood Diamond, Flags of our Fathers [not on list], The Inside Man, The Good Shepherd [not on list]. So basically yeah, I'm gonna get through all this by the end of this week! Man I am so excited, and Stardust soooon! I need to get Schindler's List and Life Is Beautiful, next, and I'll catch Triplets of Bellville in theatres!

Lit, truth be told, wasn't amazing. Macbeth wasn't as straightforward as I hoped, and Joy Luck was a mistake. I should've done the Sad question. I think too much, I thought that the question was so simple, that the answer couldn't be that easy. It wasn't amazing, I'm just hoping I'll scrape an A1. I really am. I'm really praying that God blesses me with a 1.

Aside from that, O'S ARE UNOFFICIALLY OVER, and the partying starts tomorrow morning, 11 plus at BTP: counter-strike with a bunch of fun-lovin' fools, hopefully a movie at The Tall One's house, and then dinner with my favourite factorial. I'm lovin' it <3333 really.

Have a great unofficial post-O's celebration, all :D

i wish we'd all been ready

Awesome song. I wish I lived in the era of the hippies. Dyed t-shirts and long wavy hair, a little bit bohemian, long skirts and flowers in your hair. Haha. There's so many eras in which I wish I lived for just a little bit, to see what it's like. The song is a real awakening.

Life was filled with guns and war,
And all of us got trampled on the floor.
I wish we'd all been ready.

Children died, the days grew cold.
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold.
I wish we'd all been ready.

And there's no time
To change your mind
The Son has come
And you've been left behind.

A man and wife asleep in bed,
She hears a noise, turns her head he's gone.
I wish we'd all been ready.

Two men walking up a hill,
One disappears, one's left standing still.
I wish we'd all been ready.

And there's no time
To change your mind
The Son has come
And you've been left behind

The Father spoke, the demons died.
How could you have been so blind?

And there's no time
To change your mind
The Son has come
And you've been left behind.

- I Wish We'd All Been Ready, Larry Norman

The ending of Stardust the book greatly disappointed me by the way. Gaiman ruined the ending! I can't believe the witch-queen just gave up. That's just plain darn-i've-gotta-submit-this-by-tmr-better-come-up-with-some-crap. Ah Gaiman you totally disappointed me, seriously. Neverwhere was so impressive, but then Stardust just pffffft. I'd prefer a movie of Neverwhere, actually. But ahhwell, Jasper Fforde now!

i'm a new jersey success story

Ehhhh I'm sorryyyyy laaa :(

--

You know who's the bomb, Rudy's the bomb. I asked him to help me burn Foo Fighters' new album, and he did-- along with like a tonne of other great stuff (except Paramore, sorry, I don't like). Some new bands that are pretty good too. See, that's why Rudy's the bomb. He's a terrorist sia. Thanks Rudy! :D :D :D My songs always increase significantly when you burn a CD for me.

Studying Venice is INSANE. The Rise of Venice has three aspects: Political, Economical, Social, and each aspect has like 4 -5 factors. Political has 7. And that's just the RISE of Venice. I still have the Decline to go :( WHYYYYY ARE YOU SO FACTORIAL omsbz. K I'm revising.

Political

1. Exemplary political system

  • no few families controlled the govt
  • orderly pyramidial system of govt
  • doge on top, general assembly below
  • council of forty, grand council, senate and ducal council in btwn
  • the councils handled foreign affairs, coinage, laws, disputes, commerce
  • doge had to be very experienced A.K.A old so that he wouldn't rule for too long a time (cos he will die faster what) and be able to gain power and become a DICTATORRRRZZ.

2. Fair electoral system

  • no election campaigns, no unnecessary rivalries between candidates
  • council sets up a nomination committee through balloting
  • if a family member secures a spot in the committee, the family must withdraw from the ballot
  • a pool of candidates nominated by committee, this ensures no incompetent officers hold office
  • no officer holds office for more than two years so they can't acquire too much power

3. Capable and talented leadership

  • leaders were forward-looking
  • they were fined if talented people refused to serve
  • sebastiano ziani divided venice into districts so he = OWNZZ

4. Effective system of checks on power

  • the council of ten ensured that govt was running smoothly with no corruption
  • members of the council of ten could only serve in office for a year
  • no two members of the council were from the same family
  • the citizens then were confident that the government implemented policies to benefit the country, and not for their own advantages
  • were willing to work closely with the government

5. Practical policies

  • when europe was at war with middle east, venice still retained good relations with middle east, this thus did not affect her wealth that came from the middle east
  • accomodated bigger countries eg france, but asserted power on smaller, weaker countries
  • paid off pirates to attack non-venetian ships instead, but later destroyed them with strong navy

6. Strong navy

  • venice's wealth came mostly from the sea, so strong navy was needed to protect venetian ships, from pirates, and to attack non-venetian ships
  • allowed venice to take over key trade ports
  • venice dominated trade from east to west
  • other countries forced to trade with venice
  • allowed venice to levy high taxes on goods
  • highly skilled carpenters that build venice's amazing ships weren't allowed to leave venice, so kena other countries can't build total ownage ships

7. Citizen's involvement

  • each district had a district head
  • aided by a police chief and 100 citizens who were policemen
  • each district head served in council of ten for a month each time
  • allowed council members ot receive first-hand feedback from citizens, and allowed citizens to gain a sense of belonging to the country

Best ah, that's only political. Still got economic, social. And then the DECLINE of Venice. Wahlaoooo, why you declineeee :( OKAY Lord please help me to remember everything please please please thank you in Jesus name Amen

--

I TELL YOU NEH IS SO CUNNING. She is obviously studying, and she called me and said, 'Wahlao, Chen, can you please stop studying?' WAHLAO EH, we all stop studying so she can study a lot and pwnz us man. Good ah, Neh, best. You're so sly like a wolf!

My hands are shaking, I haven't eaten since yesterday
